On the 4th March 2009, The Jazz Crusade will feature an interview with The Soothsayers; a London-based afrobeat/funk/reggae/jazz collective who have been kicking up a musical storm for over a decade now!

Noted for their blistering shows, South London collective Soothsayers have been kicking up a musical storm with their organic mix of reggae, funk, afrobeat, and jazz for over a decade. But where their first album, Lost City, drew on jazz and african music, their latest album One More Reason brings their love of dub to the fore - Harnessing some deep dub grooves to perfectly compliment their mighty horn arrangement.

Led by trumpeter Robin Hopcraft and Saxophonist Idris Rahman, both of whom were interviewed by Jazz Crusade presenter David La Rosa. The Soothsayers also features Brit Nominated (and sister of Idris) Zoe Rahman on keys, guitarists Phil Dawson and Derek Johnson, bassist Kodjovi Kush, drummer Patrick Illingworth, percussionist Satin Singh and a host of guest musicians.

Check out their Myspace Page for the latest on The Soothsayers.
